By ordering a commission, the client has agreed to this entire Terms of Service document. Should the client breach the Terms of Service, the commission will be cancelled without refund.

I (starlightarchives) retain the right to refuse commissions without giving the client a detailed explanation and reason for refusal.

I will not accept commissions that go against my ethics or morals, even for profit.

I am a digital illustrator and can only provide digital products.

Editing completed artworks may be done by the client, but I must retain credit regardless of edits.

Clients ordering NSFW commissions must be 18+. Clients found to be underage will be blacklisted and artwork will not be completed.

All prices are in USD, so clients must keep in mind the conversion rate.

The client may contact me via discord (starlight.archives) or Toyhouse (starlightarchives). I am less likely to see messages on Twitter/X (strlit_archives), or Instagram (starlightarchives), but I may be contacted on those platforms also.

It is recommended the client provides an organised and detailed list of what they want in the commission, preferably including visuals and/or detailed despcriptions. This is to make sure I understand what exactly is wanted in the final piece.

Primarily, payments will be sent via PayPal’s or Stripe's invoice system. This is to make sure there is no confusion on conversion rates. Alternatively, Australian residents with a bank that supports it may pay via PayID. The client will have to convert USD to AUD before sending the money first, but I will confirm the converted amount by checking the current exchange rate before the money is transferred. As another alternative, clients can also pay through Kofi.

The client must pay upfront or once all details have been discussed.

The account of the payment method used by the client must be owned by them. In the case where the client has used a third party’s account, they must have explicit permission to do so.

If a commission is too expensive to pay upfront (i.e. the purchase of multiple items, a reference sheet, etc), the client may pay via a payment plan if the total commission fee goes over $100 USD. This will be discussed between myself and the client.

The client may also have a hold on payment for up to a month. No progress will be done until the client has paid.

Alternative payments include gift cards (Steam/Nintendo/Google Play/Apple), Robux and Welkin Moons/Genesis Crystals worth roughly the equivalent amount. The client will have to discuss this payment option with me and gift cards will have to be Australian.

Watermarked progress screenshots will be provided via the method of contact provided by the client during the sketch phase, once lineart is completed, once flat colours have been placed down and once more after rendering is complete.

Clients may request additional progress checks once every 3-5 days. It is encouraged to check in with me, but please refrain from spamming me with messages.

Clients have access to unlimited revisions during the sketch and lineart phase. Past the lineart stage, only colour-related revisions can be made freely. If composition related, the client is subject to extra fees.

The client may request I use a specific canvas size, otherwise, I will use my default size (2800 x 4000 px, or with height and width reversed).

The client may decide which art program I use for their commission, otherwise, I will choose which I find more suitable to use. ibisPaint X is more efficient due to easy access but can appear rough. Clip Studio Paint EX is slightly less efficient as I do not always have access to my laptop, but the end result will be more polished. I currently only have Inkscape for vector art.

The client may choose the method of art delivery through Discord, sta.sh or through Google Drive.

Due to my mental health, the client must keep in mind it can take days to several months for a turnaround. Please be mindful of this when commissioning me, though I will keep you notified of any delays.

Clients can pay an extra fee if they require a rush order. Depending on how short the deadline is, the fee can be 20% to 50% of the original price.

If the commission is cancelled on the client’s end for any given reason, the client will receive a refund that is dependent on the stage of completion for the commission. If the sketch has not been started, the client will receive a full refund. However, there will only be a partial refund once a sketch has been shown, starting from 10% kept and increasing with each stage progressed. Cancellations during lineart is 20%, flat colour is 25% and rendering/shading at 50%.

If it is cancelled on my end for any given reason, the client will receive a full refund regardless of the art progress.

Filing for a chargeback immediately after receiving artwork is scamming. Clients who engage in this practice will be blacklisted from making purchases in the future.

I will not provide refunds should the client choose to pay with an alternative method to USD.

As the artist, I (starlightarchives) retain the right to use commissioned works in my portfolio, on my social media, and as promotional material for my commissions. I can, however, remove these works at the customer’s request with a privatisation fee, provided explicit proof of purchase from within the last 12 months is given.

Without the purchase of commercial use rights, the customer may only use the created artwork for personal use. This constitutes usage such as being uploaded to social media profiles, used as social media profile images, and on products intended only for personal use (i.e. prints, keychains and shirts made for just the client). Credit must be given when used.

With commercial use rights, the client may use the created artwork for projects they may profit from, including mass-produced products (i.e. clothing, bag charms, book covers, etc), live-streaming, promotional use, game assets, and webcomics. Credit still must be given.

Commercial fees can range from 200% to 400% extra, depending on the scale of the project.

Custom designs automatically come with commercial usage rights.

Depending on the scale of the project, the client is subject to paying higher fees.

The client may not use commissioned works for NFT or AI, even with commercial use rights. Clients who engage in these practices will be blacklisted from making purchases in the future.
